United Bikers of Assam take onto the roads of the North-East as they ride for the promotion of road safety.

As India celebrates 70 years of its freedom, delegates from the well-known community United Bikers of Assam take onto the roads of the North-East as they ride for the promotion of road safety. With the motto ‘Freedom comes with responsibilities,’ three bikers from the elite association, Bhargav Medhi, Himjyoti Sarma and Chow Seigin are set to start a two-day bike ride starting from the city of Guwahati to the magnanimous Krang Suri falls 25 kms off Jowai. The event is carried on in association with The North-Eastern Chronicle as both the organisations hope to instil an ardent leaning towards following proper road safety protocols in the region.

The bikers will be equipped with the standard safety kit for bikers and the route of the event will be in the following manner:

16-08-2017: Day 1
Guwahati to Dawki
Dawki to Sohra
Sohra to Shillong

17-08-2017: Day 2
Shillong to Jowai
Jowai to Karang Suri Falls

The bikers will be further equipped with Go Pro cameras as they plan to record the scenes they happen to sight as they head towards their destination with the noble cause under their helmets. The association is known for always ‘riding safe’ even under normal circumstances and for their efforts in promoting the same and as such, this two-day event in the spirit of the Independence Day is also expected to an exemplary show of their willingness to contribute to a more disciplined of commuting in the country where traffic rules and safety procedures are followed only when the traffic policeman is watching. It is thus, with this set of motives that they ride with both freedom and responsibility as none thrives without the other. Show your support to the cause.
