Assam: Women College in Tinsukia declared containment zone after 16 tests Covid positive

Assam: Tinsukia district administration declared the Women’s College Tinsukia as a containment zone as 16 students, teachers, and personnel tested Covid positive within the campus.

Notice issued by University:

According to a notice issued by the University,  the college campus will be closed for three days due to the occured emergency, while at the same time the college administrative officials will be permitted to attend with a 50% workforce. The notice further says that all additional urgent work and form filling will be completed, but only in accordance with Covid protocols.

The University has also issued a notice requesting all students, teachers, and non-teaching staff to get tested for the Covid virus. 

Assam Government issues new SOP:

Citing these increasing numbers of Covid cases, the Assam government has introduced new Standard Operating Procedures to combat the spread of Covid 19. All schools up to class 8 in the Kamrup district will remain closed from 8 Jan, till further notice. Night curfews have been imposed from 10 am to 6 pm.
