About the Incident

The migrant worker hailing from Assam was a 35-year-old man. He had come to Chennai to board a flight to Assam’s Guwahati.

He was found dead near Chennai Airport’s departure terminal, on Saturday, November 20.

Background to the Incident

On Friday, November 19, Dipak was at the Chennai airport to catch a flight to Guwahati. However, at the checking-in point, he fainted due to ill health. Subsequently, he was given first-aid by the doctors and was sent to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for further treatment.

While officials examined the deceased’s baggage, his identification was discovered as Dipak Paul from Assam, a construction worker by profession.

For the past two years, Dipak had been employed in the city.

Body taken for Autopsy

Reportedly, the body of the man was taken to a Government Hospital in order for an autopsy to be performed.

The corpse was taken to the hospital by airport personnel when they received the information and rushed to the death scene.
