Rajasthan girl allegedly raped by father, brother kills himself after knowing it: Police

Man in Jalore district of Rajasthan, allegedly raped his daughter, the police said, following the incident his son died by suicide when he came to know about the matter.


An audio clip emerged in which the girl is purportedly narrating the whole incident to her aunt, as stated by the police on Sunday, the minor girl’s brother came to know of the alleged rape thereafter.

Investigation on

On Sunday, after the 32-minute audio clip went viral, the police began an investigation into the issue.

The girl’s brother committed suicide, on the exact day, by jumping into the Narmada canal in the Sanchore area of the district, a police officer said.

Father flees

The girl’s father had disappeared from home before a police team arrived there, the officer said, adding that a search for him was on. The statement of the girl was being taped, as stated by the police.

It was evident through that purported audio clip, wherein the girl tells her aunt that in one circumstance her father took her in his car on the pretext of buying her a mobile phone and after that raped her. However, it was not apparent from the conversation when the incident took place.

Father made sexual approaches

She also claims in the clip that her mother had asked her father to take her brother along on that day, but he denied.

The girl is also heard telling her aunt that the man had earlier made sexual approaches when she would be sleeping. She asserts that her father neither let her go out of the house alone nor let her speak to anyone in the family.

Furthermore in the clip, she also confesses her  aunt that her mother had scolded her when she shouted at her father over his behaviour.
