Goa International Film Festival to screen 4 films from Assam

On Friday, 4 films from Assam were sent to the Goa International Film Festival, November 5th for a special display of movies for the Indian Panorama. 

Out of the 4 movies sent for screening, 3 are featured films but 1 is a non-feature film. 

The feature section or story picture section in the Goa International Film Festival holds a film from Assam in Bodo language named ‘Shijou’ directed by Vishal P Chalia that has been chosen for screening.

‘Semkhor’ in Dimasa language to be shown in the Film Festival

A similar section includes another Assamese film by Aimee Baruah named ‘Semkhor’ in Dimasa language to be shown at the Film Festival.

Bomba Ride’ is another film that is a Mishing language film selected for screening from the feature film category which is directed by Biswajeet Bora.

Section of Non-feature film

Moreover, the section of the non-feature in the Goa International Film Festival holds the Assamese documentary by Kishor Kalita named ‘Veerangana’ that is selected for screening in the International Film Festival.

The same section includes another Assamese film by Aimee Baruah named ‘Semkhor’ in Dimasa language to be shown at the Film Festival.

The non-feature section includes one of the Manipuri language documentaries directed by Haobam Paban Kumar, Pabung Syam 

About Goa International Film Festival

Goa International Film Festival is organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals of India along with the Government of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in affiliation with the State Government of Goa. 

The Film Festival in Goa will be held for 9 days which is scheduled to start on the 20th of November and end by 28th of November 2021. 

All the films selected will be presented to the representative and registered delegates from the films selected.

However, the selection of the films is done by prominent filmmakers and great film personalities from the world of Indian Cinema. 

A total of 25 feature films have been selected for Goa International Film Festival and 20 films in non-feature sections.
