The Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh announced that the tallest Indian national flag of the Northeastern region will be hoisted at Moirang in the state of Manipur.
The statement was made by the CM after the successful installation of the tallest flagpole in Northeast India at Moirang.

Chief minister N.Biren Singh, while sharing a picture of the installation of the flagpole at Moirang, tweeted, “Tallest Indian National Flag in the NE to be hoisted in Moirang.”
“It is a matter of great pride that we have successfully installed the tallest flagpole in the NE at Moirang,” the caption reads further.
Moirang is a small town under Manipur’s Bishnupur district and is situated approximately 45 km south of Imphal. Colonel Shaukat Malik of the Indian National Army hoisted the Tricolour for the first time on Indian soil on 14 April 1944.
Recently the construction works for the Indian National Army Museum (INA) War Memorial has been initiated at Moirang.
