Meghalaya: Navy divers recover another body from coal mine in East Jaintia Hills

Shillong: Navy divers retrieve the second body of a miner trapped inside the coal mine at Krem Ule, Umpleng in the EJH mine.

In continuation of the rescue operation, the rescue teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) verified the level of the water before the Navy Divers resume operation and found it had risen by 29 feet.

Additionally, deputy commissioner Ethelbert Kharmalki said, “So far, two bodies have been retrieved from the flooded coal pit and the rescue operation is on.”
