Important Documents

Candidates should have the following documents available to upload when applying online (where appropriate for the post/s):

  • Ex-Servicemen must have a valid Employment Exchange Registration Card / Zila Sainik Welfare Office Registration Card.
  • A valid proof of date of birth is a Class 10 admit card, pass certificate, or marksheet issued by the applicable Government Recognized Education Board.
  • The concerned Government Recognized Education Board issues a marksheet and a pass certificate for Class 10.
  • Marksheet and Pass Certificate issued by the competent Government Recognized University/Board/Institute, if applicable, for a three-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline.
  • Electrical Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency [minimum parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5(a) & 9(a)] issued by the Government of Assam’s Electrical Licensing Board.
  • Diploma apprentice candidate(s) who have successfully undergone and completed apprenticeship training in respective disciplines at Oil India Limited are granted a Certificate of Proficiency by the Board of Practical Training (BOPT), Eastern Region, Kolkata.
  • If appropriate, a SC/ST/OBC caste certificate.
  • Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate, if applicable, which must be valid as of the appointment date.
  • Economically Weaker Sections must produce an income and assets certificate that is effective as of the date of appointment, if applicable.
  • Certificate of Disabilities (in case of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities).
  • Ex-Servicemen must have a valid discharge certificate/book/service & release certificate that clearly shows their personal information and, if relevant, their service information.
  • If applicable, a photo pass for Work Contract Labors (WCL).

Selection Process

  • The selection method will consist of a Computer Based Test (CBT) with qualifying marks of at least 40% for SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and at least 50% for everyone else.
  • The Computer Based Test (CBT) will mostly consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) format questions, as well as questions to assess the required skills.

The Computer Based Test (CBT) question paper will be divided into three portions, as shown below.

  • English Language & General Knowledge /Awareness and Questions on Oil India Limited – 20%
  • Reasoning, Arithmetic/Numerical & Mental Ability – 20%
  • Domain or Relevant Technical Knowledge – 60%

The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be bilingual, consisting of English and Assamese.

Negative Marking: The CBT will not have any negative marking.

Total Time: The Computer Based Test (CBT) will take 02 (two) hours to complete. Eligible candidates who are Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will be given compensatory time in addition to the duration of the Computer Based Test (CBT), if applicable.

Final selection will be made on the basis of the marks achieved in the Computer Based Test (CBT) solely, in order of merit.
