Publication Board Assam invites application for Prakashan Parishad Sahitya Award 2021; Read details

The Publication Board Assam takes forward an initiative to encourage creative writers and publishers under the Prakashan Parishad Sahitya Award, 2021. This will provide recognition to the creative and outstanding works of the writers. 

What to do? 

Interested writers can collect their forms from publicationboardassam.com and have to submit their forms on or before December 10, 2021. All the applicants shall post their work pieces to Publication Board Assam, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati-21. 

The interested ones can send their works such as Novels, storybooks and poetry. The works must be original pieces created by the applicant and the literary works must be published between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2020 

Award components: 

The publisher may also be awarded. Both the winning author and publisher will be given an amount of Rs 2 lakh and a letter of appreciation along.

The publication Board, Assam has carved a niche in the field of book publishing and production with its unique and significant theme, content, layout, cover design and overall quality of the books. This is the reason why the Board has achieved a number of recognitions in the national level.

About Publication Board Assam:

The Publication Board Assam, is a literary institution established by the Government of Assam on 2nd of May, 1958.

It was formed under the leadership of Former Chief Minister Bimala Prasad Chaliha, Moinul Haque Choudhury, Debeswar Sarmah, and Suresh Chandra Rajkhowa, Minister for Agriculture, Minister for Education and DPI respectively. 

The Board is primarily devoted towards the promotion of books in the state as well as popularization of literature and enrichment of Assamese language and its culture.

Till now the Publication Board, Assam published more than 1000 titles of which around 550 titles are in circulation at present.
