For Disney+Hotstar’s forthcoming film, Shakti Kapoor will reprise his role as Crime Master Gogo, a well-known character from the cult classic film Andaz Apna Apna, in which the actor played the part of the comical villain.
The streaming site, Disney+Hotstar, teased fans with a sequence of tweets that included the phrases “Aaye hai, toh kuch toh lekar jaayenge” and “Gogo ji kya kya chura sakte hain?” They have also released a video of Shakti costumed as Crime Master Gogo.
Shakti Kapoor is seen in the video having a conversation with someone who is attempting to explain a situation to him. Shakti, on the other hand, removes his pen. “Pen hai,” Shakti says when he begs for his pen. “Tumhari jaan nahi hai” Fans shared their delight in the comments section as Shakti’s performance brought back a lot of memories.
Shraddha Kapoor soon followed suit, posting a video of herself and her father in the role of Crime Master Gogo on Instagram. Shraddha is seen applying nail polish in the video when Gogo interrupts her, snatches her nail polish, and flees. “I am Crime Master Gogo,” Shakti corrects Shraddha as she refers to the veteran actor and her father as “Bapu.” Shraddha soon turns to the camera and asks, “Why has Disney+Hotstar called Gogo back?” Her followers were left perplexed.
Not only did the video pique the interest of Shakti and Shraddha Kapoor fans, but it also piqued the interest of Bollywood. The video drew the attention of many of Shraddha’s peers. Tiger Shroff referred to Shakti Kapoor as a “legend,” Karan Tacker termed the video “awesome,” while Tejaswini Kolhapure thought it was “too much.”
“Ever since I was a child, I have enjoyed seeing my father on screen – totally in his element, adding his personal touch to characters that today have a massive cult-like following!” Shraddha Kapoor said in a statement about her father’s iconic character. “Being on set with him is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s very special to share screen time with my father, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this develops.”
This is the first time Shraddha and Shakti Kapoor have appeared on the same screen together.
