GUWAHATI: When was the last time you stopped to ponder upon your surroundings and observe every little detail around you?

As we walk through our day to day life we come across many stories, often they are narrated and receive a good amount of share and support, but some stories go unheard and unnoticed.

As such the team of ‘The North-Eastern Chronicle’ presents you the story of a man from Guwahati, Assam, who is a specially-abled individual, unable to heard and speak yet has a story which proves that every specially-abled person has something special within, which lets them move ahead in life.

About Biraj’s journey

@biraj8250 | Biraj who is a resident of Geetanagar is a specially-abled  (deaf and mute) person. But this hasn’t stopped him from living his life and earning for his family. He has completed his matriculation from Geetanagar Axom Jatiya Vidyalaya.

However, after the demise of his father he had to leave education and look after his mother. And thus he came up with this momo stall to earn his livelihood around 6 months back.

Talking to ‘The North-Eastern Chronicle’, his mother shared that she somehow managed money and helped Biraj prepare the stall. Growing up he had to face a lot of difficulties due to his disability. Further, his mother requests that if somehow they could get some help from the government it will be a great relief for her.

Location of his stall

He sets his momo stall in Geetanagar, Guwahati; Opposite to Auto stand. And lastly, he requests everyone to visit him and taste his momo and soup which he claims to be the best and tasty

Biraj’s story with regards to International Day of Persons with Disabilities

On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Biraj’s story is one such which motivates us and sets an example that ‘nothing can stop you if you really aspire for.
