Varanasi Police launched an investigation after posters asking non-Hindus to stay away from the ghats of the Ganga and the temples along the river came up in the place.

Face behind the act in Varanasi:

As per the police the faces behind this shameful and discriminatory act are the right-wing outfits.

About the poster:

The posters on the wall read in Hindi, “The ghats and temples along Maa Ganga in Kashi are symbols of the Sanatan Dharma. Those who have faith and belief in Sanatan Dharma are welcome. Otherwise, this is not a picnic spot.”

The poster had “Entry Prohibited – Non-Hindus” written on top and concluded saying “this is not a request, but a warning”.

Nikhil Tripathi, ‘Rudra’, the city convenor of Bajrang Dal, said the posters as a ‘clear’ message to those who use ghats like picnic spots.

VHP city secretary Rajan Gupta said those with no respect for Sanatan dharma must not visit ghats and temples.
