On Friday, Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu during a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee in Guwahati decided to impose ‘No helmet, no petrol’ rules for bikers. The district administration of Kamrup metro is going to impose this rule on bikers as soon as possible.

The committee informed that all bikers and two-wheelers should remain under the surveillance of traffic interceptors from now onwards.

The committee even put a ban on the speedy driving of vehicles in the city and on highways. Anyone who is caught doing so has to pay a fine of up to Rs. 2000 and even his driving license would get revoked for three months.
